Session 1: The Widening Gap – Growing Financial Access, Declining Financial Health

While digital innovations have led to a rapid uptake of financial services, financial health is declining in many countries. This session will focus on understanding why older risks persist, in the face of rapid innovation, and the role that technology plays in exacerbating these risks. It will end with discussion on what we should do to address these in light of newer risks like embedded finance, De-Fi, cryptocurrency, etc.

Using a few examples of regulatory innovation, innovation in policymaking, and innovation in consumer advocacy, we explore pathways for responsible finance.
