SIGNATORY SERIES | VERDANT CAPITAL BECOMES SIGNATORY TO INVESTOR GUIDELINES

Verdant Capital

The Responsible Finance Forum is pleased to announce that Verdant Capital has become a Signatory of the Investor Guidelines for Responsible Investing in Digital Financial Services.

Verdant Capital was established in 2013 with a vision to become a leading impact-oriented pan-African investment advisory firm. From the outset, the Firm focused on sectors with a high development “impact” such as Inclusive Financial Institutions (“IFIs”) and agri-business. The Firm operates in three segments: Mergers & Acquisitions, Financial Institutions and Specialist Funds. The Firm’s team is fully based in Africa, with offices in Johannesburg, Mauritius, Accra, Kinshasa and Lagos. Since inception, Verdant Capital has arranged debt and equity capital raises of over USD 250 million for IFIs alone and has closed transactions in 21 African countries. The Firm has recently advised financial technology companies in Ghana, South Africa, Uganda and Nigeria, some of which offer pan-African solutions.

Verdant Capital is excited to become a Signatory, as the Investor Guidelines are a natural extension of its existing requirements for clients and investees as it pertains to SMART Campaign Client Protection Principles, and its use of the Cerise SPI4 Social Performance Audit Tool. Verdant Capital therefore looks forward to becoming an active member of the Forum and advancing the promotion of responsible finance for digital inclusion across Africa.
