This practical guidance note summarizes lessons learned in terms of organizing an exchange and learning event among policymakers in the area of financial consumer protection (FCP). The guidance note is directed at policy advisors who would like to use exchange and learning events as a strategic instrument in policy advisory projects. The Guidance Note focuses on the practical question of what methodology for such an event provides the best possible learning experience for participants. It does not try to summarise international experience and best practices in FCP1. Most of the lessons are broad enough to also be applicable to similar events covering different topics.
