2018 Responsible Finance Forum on Africa

We are pleased to announce the first regional Responsible Finance Forum (RFF) on Africa, which will take place on October 2, 2018 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. A continuation of prior global RFFs, the event will focus on Africa’s regional risks and opportunities as well as its pioneering experiences in digital financial services over the last decade. We will also highlight the recently launched Investor Guidelines, which aim to promote responsible investments in digital financial services and spread the benefits of the fintech revolution more widely.

With over 1.7 billion of the world’s unbanked, Africa is the only region where the share of adults with a mobile money account exceeds 10 percent – and over 30 percent have a mobile account today. Together, representatives from the private sector, governments, practitioners, policymakers, academia and consumers will have the opportunity to share emerging best practices, concrete solutions and ongoing initiatives to scale up financial inclusion in the context of such an evolving digital landscape.
